Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is made by Storage Brondesbury in respect of the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains. Storage Brondesbury recognises that modern slavery is a severe violation of fundamental human rights and is committed to playing its part in eradicating it.
Modern slavery encompasses slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, bonded labour and human trafficking. We understand that these abuses can occur in any sector and any country, including the United Kingdom, and we are determined that our business and supply chains must not be involved in such practices.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Storage Brondesbury provides storage facilities and related services. Our operations require a range of goods and services, including construction and maintenance services, cleaning and security, equipment, packaging materials and various professional and administrative services. These are sourced from suppliers and contractors based both in the United Kingdom and, in some instances, overseas.
We acknowledge that certain parts of our supply chain, such as those involving manual labour, manufacturing or outsourced services, may present a higher risk of modern slavery. We are committed to identifying and addressing these risks through proportionate and effective controls.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
Storage Brondesbury has a clear zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. We will not knowingly work with any organisation or individual involved in such practices. This commitment is reflected in our internal standards, our expectations of suppliers and our approach to business relationships.
We expect everyone who works for or with Storage Brondesbury, including employees, contractors, agency staff and suppliers, to share our commitment to lawful and ethical conduct. Where we identify non-compliance or a material risk of non-compliance, we will take appropriate action, which may include suspending or terminating contracts and reporting concerns to relevant authorities where appropriate.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We are enhancing our supplier due diligence processes to assess the risk of modern slavery within our supply chains. New and existing suppliers are expected to confirm compliance with applicable labour and human rights laws and to implement measures that prevent modern slavery in their own operations and supply chains.
Storage Brondesbury may carry out supplier audits or request evidence of compliance, such as policies, training records and information on workforce practices. For higher-risk suppliers or categories, we may undertake more detailed assessments, including site visits or third-party audits where proportionate and feasible. If concerns are identified, we will work with suppliers to remedy issues within a reasonable timeframe or, where necessary, reconsider the relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Storage Brondesbury encourages a culture of openness and accountability. We want all workers, contractors and other stakeholders to feel confident in speaking up if they suspect modern slavery or any serious unethical conduct associated with our operations or supply chains.
Concerns can be raised internally to line managers or senior management, or through any established whistleblowing or grievance procedure. Reports can be made anonymously where permitted by local laws. All reports will be treated seriously, handled sensitively and investigated promptly and fairly. We will not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against any individual who raises a concern in good faith.
Training and Awareness
We are working to increase awareness of modern slavery risks among our employees, particularly those involved in procurement, supplier management and site operations. Training and guidance will cover the signs of modern slavery, how to escalate concerns and our internal standards and processes.
By improving awareness, we aim to ensure that our staff are better equipped to identify potential issues in our business and supply chains and to respond appropriately.
Monitoring, Governance and Annual Review
Responsibility for oversight of this Modern Slavery Statement and our related controls sits with Storage Brondesbury senior management. We monitor the effectiveness of our approach through supplier feedback, internal reporting and the outcomes of any audits or investigations.
This statement will be reviewed at least annually to reflect changes in our business, emerging risks, legal developments and best practice. Where necessary, we will update our policies, procedures and training materials to strengthen our approach and ensure ongoing improvement.
This statement has been approved by the management of Storage Brondesbury and constitutes our Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement for the current financial year.
